The bowl games to kick off the new year are, not gonna lie, pretty good games. I am looking forward to all of the games on the slate. The first game of the day is Mississippi State vs Iowa, followed by LSU vs UCF, and Kentucky vs Penn State. The afternoon game is Washington vs Ohio State then Texas vs Georgia to cap of the first day of 2019.
In the first game of the day I am taking Mississippi State over Iowa. I think that the offensive fire power of Miss St. will out match Iowa’s stout def. The game will come down to points and that has been Iowa’s down fall all year. They can hold any team under 20 points, but they can hardly score 20 themselves. Miss St 31 Iowa 14
I am taking UCF to beat LSU. I know I could easily be wrong, but I think the fight of UCF will keep them in the game late. If they manage to hang around I think that they will win. LSU is a good team, but they will not have they competitive edge to pull out the win if the going gets tough. It will be a close game, and the underdog will win UCF 24 LSU 20
Kentucky and Penn State features teams that either under-preformed or over-preformed. You can guess who is who. I am going to take Penn State in this one because I think they are simply the better team, and the better team wins over half the bowl games. I think Penn State gets the running game going and walks to a victory. Penn State 38 Kentucky 17
The Granddaddy of them All has a lucky to be there Washington team and pissed to be there Ohio State. I think Ohio State runs up the score early and often to show the committee that they were one of the best 4 teams in the country. Washington needed a blizzard to slow down Wazzu for the Apple Cup and snuck into the Rose Bowl. Ohio State 54 Washington 38
The last game of the day is Texas vs a pissed off Georgia team. Similar to Ohio State Georgia thought they deserved in the playoff, but you have to beat the teams on the schedule and they had 2 losses. I think they will try to run away with this game, but UT will hang around late. Georgia wins but by not as much as you think. Georgia 45 Texas 42
