The Lazy Man's Sport Site – No Hustle No Problem

NBA MVP Race

This article seems pretty pointless at this point, because James Harden is really good at putting the orange ball through the floating orange ring in the sky. Alas we must consider some of the other great players around the league.

The favorite is James Harden. This dude can not stop scoring. He is averaging 34.8 points a game on the Rockets that currently sit 4th in the western conference standings. He is doing his job to keep them in the top half of the playoff picture. It also helps that this guy has a killer beard.

Other sites have it a two way race between Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo. I give Harden the edge over The Greek Freak because he has been dominate longer and I think Harden will keep this pace all season. Not to knock on Giannis, he is still averaging 26.7 points per game, but only averaged 18.0 points per game over his career. I think he has made the turn for stardom, but the win goes to Harden right now.

Lebron James is always a contender, simply because he is the best basketball player on the planet. (We will shortly find out if he is the best in the universe with Space Jam 2 being made) I know he is hurt, but if he is healthy he could score 40 a game with ease, but with his old age he has decided to share the rock and only dominate when needed. If he comes back with a vengeance it could get tight with these 3.

My Homer pick is Luka Doncic, he plays for my favorite hoops team the Dallas Mavericks. He is turning himself into the new Dirk of the franchise and that is what we needed from this young team. He is averaging 20.2 a game and without him the Mavs would be awful, he is truly the most valuable person to their respected franchise (Giannis is close). I am getting to see him in person Wednesday when they play the Spurs and I am pumped to see the Rookie of the Year favorite in action.
