Ichiro is officially retired and the M’s win again

Ichiro walks off into the sunset where his career began in Japan. If we combined all of his professional hits he would be the all time hit leader, but alas he falls short of Pete Rose for the official title.

The Mariners won again moving to 2-0. The game started at 4:30am CT and just now completed at 9:00am. The Mariners are supposed to be in a full rebuild and the A’s are supposed to be playing for one of the wild card spots, so the M’s sweeping the A’s was a bit odd. (Profar made a throwing error in the top of the 12th to allow the winning run across)

I love that the MLB is playing games abroad. This series was awesome, and me and my GF are going to one of the Yankee v Red Sox games in London. I have never been to Europe and this was one way to get me there.

I will miss Ichiro and all that he has done and accomplished over his career. I hope Ohtani will be the next Ichiro that kids will be able to remember for a long time. They both won rookie of the year awards, so we will see how the future plays out.
