Power Rankings (Week 4)

Week 4 of the season is done, it finished, its over. We had some crazy double plays, Chris Davis striking out….. a batter as a pitcher, and the Yankees lose another core player. The top 10 this week was hard since ever team in the top 15 received a vote for the top 10. These rankings come out every Wednesday, so check the sight then around noon for the weekly power rankings.

  • #1 Dodgers (15-10)
  • The Dodgers did what they do this week and that was pitch well, mash hrs, and win. That combinations will take the Dodgers back to the World Series.
  • Last week (4)
  • #2 Astros (14-9)
  • Not much separates the Astros from the Dodgers. The Dodgers play in a tougher division (kinda) so this week the Dodgers took the top spot. These two teams could flip-flop a lot this season at the top of the Power Rankings.
  • Last Week (1)
  • #3 Rays (16-8)
  • The Rays did not have a great week, they are 5-5 in their last 10 games and the Yankees are lurking even with the injuries. Hopefully next week is better for the Rays or they could end up on the wrong side of the top 5.
  • Last week (2)
  • #4 Cardinals (14-9)
  • The Cards game plan for the season should be to forfeit games against Yelich and the Brewers and just steam roll everyone else. We knew that they would be good, but they have caught fire lately and could win this division come September.
  • Last Week (17)
  • #5 Phillies (12-11)
  • The Phillies are a team that most people want to be good, but can they hold on to the east? The Mets took over the top spot, but I think the Phillies are more talented overall. I’ll keep saying it, but the NL East is gonna be a blast. (Harper quit striking out, it not ideal)
  • Last week (5)
  • #6 Brewers (13-12)
  • This past week has not been kind to the Brewers they have lost 3 in a row coming into today, and only 3 wins in their last 10 games. This team should just go ahead and sign Kimbrel to give Hader some help in the back of the pen. Hopefully Jefferess can help some in that capacity.
  • Last Week (3)
  • #7 Mets (13-10)
  • Just keep pitching and scoring enough to win. It is working now and it could lead you to the playoffs. How about Wheeler dealing last night with 11 Ks and no runs. That is what Mets fans needed to see out of him.
  • Last week (7)
  • #8 Yankees (13-10)
  • Did the Yankees hire the Mets training staff from the last 3 years???? This is getting silly with all the injuries. Luckily they are a deep team and once healthy they should be in the top 3, but they aren’t healthy and staying in the top 10.
  • Last week (8)
  • #9 Indians (12-10)
  • Just a heads up, the Twins are leading your division now.
  • Last week (6)
  • #10 Mariners (16-10)
  • Well they are still leading the Astros in the West and that deserves to stay in the top 10 this week.
  • Last week (11)
  • #11 Pirates (12-9)
  • They went 3-3 and moved closer to the top of the division. I hope they keep it up. The city of Pittsburgh needs them. The Steelers stink now and they have to live in Pittsburgh.
  • Last week (16)
  • #12 Braves (11-11)
  • Went 2-4 this week, any more slides like this could put them out of the race. They need to play .500 ball on bad weeks. I think they will be 10 back of the division winner starting August.
  • Last week (9)
  • #13 Twins (13-8)
  • Nelly is coming around, the pitching is keeping games close. I think they need a better closer, but who am I to judge a team that is 5 games over .500
  • Last week (14)
  • #14 D-Backs (13-11)
  • Well they caught fire and Walker is the reason. He is currently a top 3 first baseman. He is hitting the ball in the 99% percentile, for hard contact. Keep swinging big boy!
  • Last week (20)
  • #15 Padres (13-11)
  • How much fun are these guys. Tatis Jr looks like a vertern playing SS and they have young studs pitching lights out and Yates shutting the door in the 9th. Its a good combo.
  • Last week (10)
  • #16 Nationals (11-11)
  • Mad Max was terrible in his start, and got hurt dodging a foul ball in the dugout. You need to regain from the last 6 years for this team to keep up in the east.
  • Last week 12
  • #17 Cubs (11-10)
  • They had a pretty good week and inching closer to the top of their division. Bryant and Rizzo need to snap out of it and start crushing the ball again.
  • Last week (15)
  • #18 Red Sox (9-15)
  • Since the last power rankings the Red Sox turned a corner and went .500 they won 3 and lost 3. If they keep up this hot streak, they will still miss the playoffs.
  • Last week (15)
  • #19 Rangers (12-10)
  • Joey Gallo is really fun to watch. I over paid to get him in fantasy of the week and I have been reaping the rewards.
  • Last week (17)
  • #20 A’s (13-13)
  • Y’all were the sexy pick to make a wild card spot. The organization should be worried since the Rangers are ahead of them in the standings. I might not buy that new Bay Area house.
  • Last week (19)
  • #21 Blue Jays (11-13)
  • I saw a Blue Jay sitting on my fence over the week, that was the only time I have been interested in the Blue Jays this year.
  • Last week (21)
  • #22 Tigers (12-10)
  • Well they have a winning record despite Miggy not hitting for much power. They will not have a winning record next week.
  • Last week (26)
  • #23 Rockies (10-14)
  • Can this team start winning? They can hit, Grey is pitching well, Davis is a good closer. They have the tools, put it together and have a hot week and move into the top 15
  • Last week (24)
  • #24 Giants (10-14)
  • Madbum is going to look good in another uniform come the deadline, just think of the prospects!
  • Last week (22)
  • #25 Trouts (9-15)
  • Mike Trout .317/.522/.825, 6 Home runs, 14 RBIs, 2 SBs
  • Last week (23)
  • #26 Orioles (9-16)
  • They suck and they know it. Keep having fun and letting Chris Davis pitch.
  • Last Week (25)
  • #27 Reds (9-13)
  • Votto is getting a little better at the plate, Puig is not.
  • Ohio State football is only a few quick brutal months of baseball away!
  • Last Week (29)
  • #28 Marlins (7-16)
  • It is almost summer time!
  • Last Week (30)
  • #29 White Sox (9-13)
  • I talked about this team needing to start clicking and they could get hot… They did not, they went 2-4.
  • Last Week (27)
  • #30 Royals (7-17)
  • Billy Hamilton now has 8 stolen bases so there is that.
  • Last Week (28)
