The Texas Rangers make some waves snagging this years top prospect out of Japan in Kohei Arihara. The Rangers were among the favorites to sign the righty at the start of the offseason.
Arihara signs a 2 year deal with the Rangers to show that he can compete at the MLB level on one the worst organizations in the bigs right now. The 28 year old went 8-9 and had a 3.46 era in Japan last season.
Rangers you do not need to think of this guy as the next Darvish, at best I see Arihara as a 3rd or 4th starter on most MLB teams. We just need to hope that he is able to stay healthy and eat innings. He lead the Pacific league with 3 complete games and was second in innings pitched last season. This is the production the Rangers need to see.
